Just one week remains in the CFL’s regular-season schedule, and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers continue to lead the way on the 2021 Grey Cup odds, perched as strong 1.80 favourites at Betway. The Blue Bombers have emerged as the class of the CFL this season while racking up an impressive 11-2-0 win-loss-tie record. However, nothing has been decided further down the odds, with little separating second-favourites from longshots on the CFL futures.

Blue Bombers the Team to Beat
Winnipeg Blue Bombers
2021 record: 11-2-0, 22 points (First place, West Division)
Best Grey Cup odds: 2.00
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have exceeded expectations by a wide margin while climbing to the top of the CFL standings and Grey Cup odds this season. That is nothing new for Winnipeg, which opened the season facing long odds to repeat as Grey Cup champions. The Bombers wasted no time silencing the naysayers, claiming victory in 11 of their first 12 outings before dropping a 28-14 decision in Montreal this past weekend in a meaningless contest for the West Division regular-season champions.
‘We just work’: 2021 Bombers a different animal: With nothing to play for in the standings, they’re sitting out their starting quarterback this weekend. Winnipeg has dominated in most team statistics this season, racking up a league-best 26.8 points per game while also leading the CFL on defence, with just 13.5 points allowed per game. And while it is yet to be determined whether the Bombers will face Calgary or Saskatchewan in this year’s West Division final, it is likely to mean little to the team, which enters the final week of the season with a combined 3-0 SU record against the Stamps and Riders, and allowed a meagre 11 points per game in those contests.
The Dark Horses
Toronto Argonauts
2021 record: 9-4-0, 18 pts (First place, East Division)
Best Grey Cup odds: 6.50 at Betway
A perfect 6-0 SU record on home turf, as well as a steady 6-1 SU run during the second half of the season, have carried the Argonauts to the top of the East Division standings for the first time since 2017. Now pegged as 5.75-second favourites on the Grey Cup odds at Sports Interaction, the Argonauts demonstrated playoff form while ending Hamilton’s hopes of a first-place finish with last weekend’s 31-12 win.

However, the Argos have been far from dominant during their current 6-1 SU run, with four of their recent victories coming by three or fewer points, and have covered just twice while compiling a middling 3-4 record on the road.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats
2021 record: 7-6-0, 14 pts (T-2nd, East Division)
Best Grey Cup odds: 7.60 at Bet99
The Tiger-Cats have struggled to maintain high hopes since opening the season as favourites to claim their first Grey Cup title since 1999. Hamilton enjoys the benefit of being this year’s Grey Cup host city, but the team has failed to maintain its recent dominance on home turf this season.

The squad stumbled out of the gate while posting wins in just one of their first four road dates, before gaining ground on the midseason Grey Cup betting picks. Now pegged as an ordinary 7.60 bet on the Grey Cup odds at Bet99, the Tiger-Cats have generated mixed results at Tim Hortons Field, winning just two of four to end an epic 11-game SU win streak. They have also lost a combined four straight to the other two playoff-bound East Division teams, raising questions as to whether they will even be making an appearance on Grey Cup Sunday.

The Longshots
Three teams round out the bottom of the Grey Cup odds, with the Montreal Alouettes joining the Saskatchewan Roughriders at 7.50, followed by the Calgary Stampeders that lag as 8.50 longshots. Of the three, it is the Stampeders that offer the most intriguing value.
QB Index: A familiar face rises up: The QB Index is back for Week 16 with some appreciation for Zach Collaros and wondering if we’re seeing signs of the Bo Levi Mitchell getting into form at the right time. https://t.co/poCI9IuKiH via @CFL #CFL pic.twitter.com/gFoaFR0EZr

Hobbled by injuries early on, most notably to quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell, the Stampeders puttered to a 2-5 SU start. However, Calgary has taken full opportunity of a favourable schedule during the second half, winning five of six including three outright victories as betting underdogs. The Stampeders is also a team that has plenty of playoff experience after appearing in five of the past eight editions of the Grey Cup and raising the hardware on two occasions during that stretch. Yes, it is tough seeing any team stopping the Blue Bombers, but for sports bettors looking to make a value wager, it is equally tough to ignore the Stampeders.
