Los Angeles Dodgers vs San Francisco Giants
The Los Angeles Dodgers needed a wild card game victory over the St. Louis Cardinals to earn a spot in this year’s NLDS, but sports bettors should not underestimate this team’s ability to successfully defend their World Series pennant. Pegged as strong 1.83 road favourites on the NLDS game line odds at Bodog ahead of Friday’s contest at Oracle Park, the Dodgers also kick off their ninth straight trip to the postseason perched as heavy 2.27 favourites to clinch a berth in the World Series for the fourth time in five years.

The Dodgers take an eight-game win streak into Game 1 and have avoided consecutive losses during an epic 19-3 run that started on September 10. Not surprisingly, Los Angeles has also emerged as 1.60 chalk on the MLB playoff series prices, and with this week’s wild-card win over the Cardinals, the Dodgers now sport a sparkling 14-5 record over their past 19 postseason contests.
However, the Dodgers cannot afford to look past the Giants, who enter Game 1 pegged as 2.00 underdogs at Bodog. Winners of just 29 games during the abbreviated 2020 MLB season, the Giants emerged as one of the biggest stories of 2021 while marching to 107 wins and ending the Dodgers’ eight-year reign atop the NL West standings with their first divisional pennant win since 2012.
Perhaps the biggest key to San Francisco’s success this season has been their recent dominance of the Dodgers. The Giants have gone 10-5 in 15 dates with LA since being swept in a four-game home series back in May. Pitcher Logan Webb, who gets the start on Friday limited the Dodgers to just four total earned runs over three starts this season, but struggled down the stretch, allowing four or more runs in three of his past five outings.
Dodgers/Giants will be:
– 1st-ever postseason series between 105+ win teams (there’s also never been a regular-season game b/w 105+ win teams)
– 213 combined regular-season wins, most in any postseason series all-time

Dodgers starter Walker Buehler was equally dominant when facing the Giants this season, surrendering one or fewer runs in five dates prior to getting rocked for six runs in just 3.0 innings of work in a 6-4 loss back on September 5. Look for Buhler and the experienced Dodgers to bounce back and draw first blood on Friday night.
The Pick: Dodgers (1.83) at Bodog
Atlanta Braves vs Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers will be searching for an end to their schedule-ending swoon when they open their NLDS matchup with the Atlanta Braves as 1.62 home favourites on the Game 1 odds at Betsafe. The Brewers managed to claim the NL Central pennant by a five-game margin over St. Louis despite stumbling down the stretch, going 6-12 over their final 18 contests, capped by a four-game losing streak.
Finished in off with a 4 game losing streak. 6-12 their last 18 games.

Milwaukee has also struggled in recent October action, going winless in each of their past two postseason appearances. The Brewers’ recent streaky performance also extends to recent clashes with Atlanta. Milwaukee split the six-game season series with the Braves, including a 1-2 record at home, and will need a big performance from starting pitcher Corbin Burnes, who went 11-5 on the season but has earned just one winning decision at American Family Field since early August.
The Braves return to the postseason after claiming a fourth straight NL East title and look to be peaking at the right time. Listed as 2.35 road underdogs in game 1, the Braves take a 12-2 run into Friday’s contest, including victories in seven of their past eight home dates.
“My least favorite thing about baseball is the feeling of letting someone down. The thought that I’ve let a team down, organization, fan base, that eats at me even in regular-season games, but certainly in the postseason. It’s a very visceral experience.” https://t.co/2Kc9UOMFZX

However, Atlanta has been a consistent disappointment in the postseason in recent years, with their march to the NLCS last year marking the only time they have claimed playoff series victories in 10 postseason appearances since 2001. That has not helped the Braves on the MLB playoff series prices at Bet99, where they lag as 2.25 underdogs to knock off Milwaukee. But with the Brewers struggling to find ways to win, look for the Braves to take the early lead on Friday night.
The Pick: Atlanta Braves (2.35) at Betsafe
