Vancouver Whitecaps v New England Revolution

Vancouver Whitecaps v New England RevolutionTwo mid-table sides face off at BC Place on Saturday with both Vancouver and New England desperate for points to drive them up the table. Both are clinging on to knockout slots right now but Revolution and the Whitecaps need to keep winning in order to maintain an advantage over the chasing pack.

Match Odds

Vancouver come into this game on the back of three straight draws, all of which have seen a 2-2 scoreline and Carl Robinson’s side are favourites to upgrade and take the win in this tie at 8/9 with 888Sport. The draw is next on the list at 5/2 with Betway while victory for New England is out at 29/10 with 10Bet.

Form is fairly even coming into this match and added to those three draws for the Whitecaps are one loss and one win in the last five. Over the same period, New England Revolution have recorded two wins, two defeats and one draw.

Given Vancouver’s recent record, there could well be some interest in another tied game after 90 minutes but before we make our own verdict, let’s take a look at the men who can decide its destiny.

Individual Goal Scorers

Vancouver Whitecaps v New England Revolution

Kei Kamara

First Goalscorer betting shows a clear favourite with Kei Kamara starting at best odds of 17/4 with 888Sport to find the net first in Saturday’s contest. Vancouver’s Sierra Leone international has started well with his new club, scoring three goals in his first five league matches. He’s also facing his old side having spent the 2016/17 season with New England so Kamara seems a worthy favourite.

Behind the market leader, Anthony Blondell is on offer at a top price of 11/2 with Betway while Yordy Reyna is close behind at a best of 23/4 with 888Sport. Whitecaps forward Blondell has just one goal in nine MLS games so far and that price looks a little short while teammate Reyna is equally shy in front of goal so, if you are tieing a bet here to the home side, Kei Kamara looks to be the better option.

For New England Revolution, one of the first names on the list is that of Juan Agudelo, the Colombian born USA international who has a decent scoring record of around one goal every four games. Agudelo is quoted at 13/2 with Betway to find the net first but is our first confirmed tip in the anytime goal market at 2/1 – also with Betway.

Other Side Bets

Vancouver Whitecaps v New England RevolutionNeither side is particularly high scoring in this season’s MLS but there are strong indicators to suggest we should add Both Teams to Score to our betslip. Neither team has been involved in a 0-0 game in the last ten combined matches and between them, Vancouver and New England have scored 14 times in that period. BTTS is, however, a little short at 5/11 so instead, we will finish with Under 3.5 goals which gives a little better value at 4/7 with Betway.

Neither team looks likely to produce a feast of goals at BC Place and based on recent results that looks a likely outcome.

As for the match winner, Vancouver’s form is mixed but that run of three straight draws should come to an end this weekend in a positive way. New England will be tough opponents but a stronger squad, man-for-man, coupled with that old ally of home advantage makes the Whitecaps the pick at a reasonable win price of 8/9.

Best Bets
