The Milwaukee Bucks are on fire right now, winning eight of their last nine NBA games. As of January 4th, Mike Budenholzer’s men are the top ranked team in the Eastern Conference – an impressive feat considering the strength of competition.
With a 26-10 record, the Bucks will take some stopping in their pursuit of reaching the NBA Finals for the first time since the 1973/74 campaign.
Meanwhile, Toronto are right up there as the third strongest team in the East. The Raptors are sitting pretty at the top of the Atlantic Division yet arch rivals Boston Celtics are still the market principles in the betting.
Nick Nurse will have his side gearing up for a huge playoff push and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see Toronto embark on a huge winning run in the coming months.
After an extended period of Toronto dominance, the Bucks have now won the last three meetings in a row. Traditionally, these games are high scoring so punters should consider the over/under total points line.
This could turn out to be one of the matches of the season so far if it lives up to the hype. Without further ado, let’s get down to the two teams…
Bucks Battling On In Two-Horse Central Race
Milwaukee and the Indiana Pacers are clear at the top of the East’s Central Division and one of these two teams will win the divisional crown. With an eight-win gap back to third spot, it is now a two-horse race for supremacy in the race to secure the easiest postseason route.
At this moment in time, it is hard to back against the Bucks. They have an MVP-calibre star in Giannis Antetokounmpo and he could be Milwaukee’s difference maker at the business end of the campaign. Watch this space, the Greek giant will take some stopping.
The Bucks are now 1/4 with 888sport to claim the division title this year – a Pacers triumph would go down as a real shock. Milwaukee have the quality and strength in depth to keep their rivals at bay and playoff glory could be on the cards.
Raptors Ready To Bounce Ahead Of Playoffs
Write the Canadian side off at your peril. Toronto are well equipped to build momentum in the playoff race and plenty of punters will fancy the Raptors to go on and claim a first NBA title. 8/1 with Betway is a solid price given their strong showing so far in 2018/19.
Kawhi Leonard had a career night in Toronto’s victory over the Utah Jazz earlier this month, notching 45 points in a Raptors success. If the former San Antonio Spurs man can put up similar numbers throughout the rest of the season, Toronto will be in business.
Despite their strong start to the season, the Raptors are 5-5 in recent weeks. Toronto have slipped down the ladder but Nurse won’t be hitting the panic button just yet – a tough run of fixtures hasn’t helped their cause.
This one has points written all over it. Backing an outright winner is tough, especially with the clash taking place in Milwaukee. The Bucks are a tough nut to crack on home soil but Toronto have one of the best road records in the NBA.
Taking everything into account, points is the way to go. For neutrals, this could be one of the games of the season. You won’t want to take your eyes off it. With so much talent on show, a high scoring affair awaits at Fiserv Forum.
TIP: Over 219.5 total points
