Ladies and gentlemen, this series is going down to Game 7. It has been a scintillating series so far, with lots of twists and turns to this point.
Expect another dramatic contest between two teams worthy of reaching the Eastern Conference Finals. Unfortunately, only one team can advance to the next stage of the season.
The 76ers knew that they had to win on Thursday evening and Philadelphia produced one of their best performances of the season to force a Game 7.
Both teams will be confident of getting the job done though the Raptors are favourites at 3/8 with Ladbrokes. Canadian fans will have fingers and toes crossed ahead of what should be a memorable contest.
Nick Nurse’s side have been simply sublime at Scotiabank Arena this season and punters will be tempted to back Toronto with that in mind.
The Raptors have been pegged back on more than one occasion during this series but the likes of Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry can earn their lucrative pay checks on Sunday night.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia will once again rely on the Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler to lead the way in terms of scoring.
The 76ers are more about the collective than individual talent though and they have already won at Toronto during the playoffs. Fans from all over the world will be cheering Brett Brown’s side on and 47/20 with William Hill is a decent price.
Event Date: May 12, 2019
For The Raptors, It All Comes Down To This
Toronto have been improving year-on-year and many believe that this is their time to shine on the biggest stage of all. Nurse’s men are now just one game away from the Milwaukee Bucks and that is the series that neutrals want to see.
With NBA odds showing the Bucks at 3/1 and Toronto at 6/1 to win the title, Milwaukee will start the series as favourites should the Raptors go through.
The Raptors went 32-9 at Scotiabank Arena during the regular season and punters will fancy the Canadian outfit to finish the job at home. Philadelphia’s 20-21 road record leaves a lot to be desired and all signs point towards a Toronto triumph.
This one is Toronto’s to lose. If the hosts bring their A-game on Sunday night, they could be that little bit too strong for the 76ers.
Do Not Write The 76ers Off Just Yet
The 76ers showed grit and determination in Game 6 and you could argue that momentum is now well and truly with Philadelphia ahead of their trip north of the border. For a ‘winner takes all’ contest, 47/20 for a road victory is a huge price.
Philly were rank outsiders at the start of the series and they have exceeded expectations no matter what happens on Sunday evening. The 76ers might have one more moment of magic in them…
Winning on the road in the playoffs is never easy but Philadelphia have already done it and that may make the task less daunting this time around. Toronto will be wary of presenting the 76ers with too many attacking opportunities.
This series could still be in the balance entering the fourth quarter and nerves may start to affect both teams. The 76ers are younger and that inexperience could come back to haunt them if Toronto edge ahead.
Leonard has been in fantastic form in recent games and he can make the difference for the Raptors once again. Neutrals will be hoping for an open and exciting contest and we may get that with Toronto just pipping the 76ers to victory.
TIP: Toronto Raptors to win
CORRECT SCORE: Toronto Raptors 108-102 Philadelphia 76ers
