Coming into the weekend all the Canadian clubs are in action, and most of the games mean something important for the teams. Playoff positions are up for grabs and consolidating standings is on the line this weekend.
THURSDAY FEB 26TH
Blues @ Jets
St.Louis comes into Winnipeg after two losses, on a long west coast road trip to face the high
flying Jets. This arena is one of the loudest in the league and a hard place to win. Winnipeg is
coming a nice win and would like to test their mettle against a divisional rival against whom they want points. Even with a wild card spot the Jets would like to solidify their position. They are more hungry than the Blues.
Our Pick: Jets over Blues, 6 plus goals
Senators @ Kings
The Kings are on a massive hot streak. they have won their last 8 and are looking to make the
Sens their next victims. They are getting their game together at the right time and are trying to
overtake their division rivals in the Pacific division, with only 3 points behind streak Vancouver.
This should be a relatively easy win for L.A.
Our Pick: Kings over Sens
Flyers @ Leafs
Our Pick: The Flyers are coming into disillusioned Toronto looking for an important 2 points as
they are just barely out of a wild card position. With the Eastern conference wide open still, the
Flyers have a chance to catch Florida and Boston who are only 4 points ahead. Look for Philly
to come in flying and take it to the body with a physical game against the Leafs.
Our Pick: Flyers over Toronto, 5 and under goals
FRIDAY FEB 27TH
Flames @ Islanders
The Flames are outside looking in, the have played surprisingly well this season but share out of
a playoff spot. 1 point behind Minnesota for a wildcard spot, the Flames need as many points
as they can get on this road trip to New York state. The Isles are one of the toughest teams to
beat in the NHL so getting two points from them will be a war. But we appreciate the Flames
Our Pick: Tie game
SATURDAY FEB 28TH
Leafs @ Canadiens
Second in the league with all cylinders firing, Montreal is a powerhouse team to face, especially
at home. With the biggest historic rival, Toronto coming into town no matter how badly they are
playing they always give the Habs a good fight. This should be a hard hitting fast paced game,
and we expect the Leafs to save face and win this one.
Our Pick: Leafs over Habs
Blues @ Oilers
The Blues are probably not going to catch Nashville, but these points now are important to
bank so they get a good first round match up and not choke like they did last year so quickly.
Going to Edmonton facing the worst team in the league means they need to go in for the kill
shot. This should be a high scoring game for St. Louis and they might even get a shutout if hey
Our Pick: Blues over Oilers, 6 plus goals
SUNDAY MAR 1ST
Blues @ Canucks
On the end of a long road trip the Blues will want to go out with a bang. Both teams are getting
great goaltending and are 2nd in their division. This will be a a great match up as these two
teams have many similar points and if they make a push can be possible cup contenders. This
should be a low scoring game but lots of chances.
Our Pick: Tie game, Blues win in S/O
