With a 15-4 record, the Toronto Raptors are the strongest side in the Eastern Conference. Since losing to the Boston Celtics, Toronto have won three on the spin and plenty of punters will fancy the Canadian outfit to grab another win here.
Nick Nurse’s men have been consistent at the beginning of the campaign, with seven wins from nine games at Scotiabank Arena. Toronto will head into this game as 1/5 favourites to extend their winning run.
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards have been hit and miss so far in 2018/19. With just two wins from 10 road games, Washington may find it tough to keep pace with this Raptors offensive unit. It could turn out to be a high-scoring affair…
Toronto have won three of the previous four meetings between the two sides; yet another omen in favour of the Canadian side. The home crowd will be expecting big things ahead of this clash.
Raptors Will Take Some Stopping
Toronto have been pretty special so far this season – winning the Atlantic Division and going deep into the playoffs will be the main priority. On current form, we could see the Raptors represent the East in the NBA Championship finals at the end of the campaign.
Kawhi Leonard continues to thrive, leading the team in points per game, rebounds per game and steals per game. The former San Antonio Spurs star has made a huge difference for the Raptors this year and he can take Toronto to the next level.
10/1 for the Raptors to win the NBA title represents excellent value, especially when you take Golden State Warriors’ struggles into account. Getting past the Celtics in the East may be the hardest leg in Toronto’s bid for NBA glory.
The Raptors have an excellent record in the conference, winning nine of their 12 regular season games in 2018/19. It would take a brave man to back against Toronto claiming a 10th victory over an Eastern rival this weekend.
Wizards Struggling To Inspire Confidence
It has been a case of one step forward, two steps backward for Washington in 2018/19. At the time of writing, they are languishing in second spot in their division and will need a minor miracle to claim a postseason berth this year.
The main positive from a Wizards perspective is that they have two men averaging over 20 points per game. Bradley Beal and John Wall have been simply sublime in recent weeks and those two could help Washington to turn things around.
Currently valued at around 3/1 to win the Southeast Division, Washington are still in the hunt but they need a shift in dynamics. It is difficult to place too much faith in the Wizards at this moment in time.
Taking their defensive woes into account, opting for the over on the total points line may be the best bet. Washington are capable of scoring heavily but beating Toronto IN Toronto is going to be very difficult indeed.
This is Toronto’s game to lose. The Raptors are on the verge of something special and a win here will reassert their dominance in the Eastern Conference. Winning four games in a row in the NBA is never easy.
Leonard will need to be at his brilliant best to carry the Raptors to victory but if anyone can do it, Kawhi Leonard can. He looks set for another huge game at Scotiabank Arena, Leonard could put up massive numbers against a leaky Wizards defence.
TIP: Over 228.5 points @ 5/6 (with 888sport)
