Liverpool, Man City Neck and Neck
Liverpool FC will be aiming to bounce back after being forced to settle for a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. The draw snapped a six-match win streak in league play, and proved costly to the Reds, who now find themselves trailing first-place Manchester City by three points going into the holidays. Despite last weekend’s setback, the Reds offence remains the most dominant in the Premier League this season. Liverpool has potted a league-high 50 goals through their first 18 matches of the season, and have regularly filled the net in recent home contests, outgunning opponents by a 12-1 margin during a 4-0-0 run.

That is bad news for a Leeds United, who limp into Anfield pegged as distant 15.00 bet on the EPL Boxing Day odds. The Peacocks are coming off a lopsided 4-1 home loss to Arsenal last weekend, and have now surrendered 13 total goals while going winless over their past four contests. Leeds is also winless in 12 straight dates with the Reds across all competitions, capped by a 3-0 defeat on September 12.

Manchester City aim to stay one step ahead of the Reds in their Sunday matchup with Leicester City. The Citizens have steadily gained momentum during their impressive 8-0-0 run, during which they have kept clean sheets on four occasions. The club has been particularly dominant in their past two outings, following up a crushing 7-0 win over Leeds United with last weekend’s 4-0 rout of Newcastle United. Listed as distant 13.00 underdogs in Sunday’s date with City, the Foxes are also coming off a 4-0 victory over Newcastle United. However, they have failed to get the bounces during a three-match winless run on the road. That stretch was capped by a 2-1 loss at Aston Villa last weekend in which they led early on.

Chelsea Searches for End to Winless Slide
Chelsea FC aim to make up for ground lost during their current 1-2-1 run when they visit Aston Villa on Sunday as 1.70 chalk. The Blues have potted just one total goal while playing to draws against Everton and Wanderers in their past two outings, and now six points back of City on the Premier League table going into Christmas. Overall, the Blues have mustered just three victories over their past eight league contests. However, two of those wins have come on the road, against Watford and Leicester City. The challenge now facing Chelsea is to reverse a middling stretch against Aston Villa, whom they have defeated just once in three league matchups.

That could be easier said than done considering the Villans recent resurgence. Aston Villa have won four of six since ending a five-match win streak, and have surrendered more than one goal just once during that stretch. Considering Chelsea’s recent struggles to find the back of the net, the Villans offer arguably the best value on the Boxing Day odds board as 5.00 home underdogs.

Elsewhere on the Premier League Sunday odds, Arsenal FC visit Norwich City as 1.39 favourites. West Ham United aim to halt a two-match winless streak as they host Southampton FC as 1.71 chalk, while Tottenham Hotspur look to extend their undefeated streak in league play to six matches as they battle Crystal Palace sporting short 1.68 odds.
